Feeding Support for Children and the Parents Who Feed Them
Specialized nutrition care for picky and selective eating, growth concerns, food allergies, and the mealtime struggles that can take over family life.
RECOGNITION AND VALIDATION
Does this sound familiar?
Concerns about a child’s eating rarely arrive all at once. Many parents tell us they have been quietly worried for months before reaching out.
Your child eats a short list of foods, and that list seems to be getting shorter.
Mealtimes have become a negotiation, and you are tired of bribing, pleading, or cooking separate meals.
Your child gags, refuses, or becomes upset when a new texture or food appears on the plate.
Your pediatrician has raised a question about growth or weight, and you want a clear plan rather than more worry.
A food allergy, digestive issue, or medical diagnosis has made feeding feel complicated and high stakes.
You are unsure how to talk about food with your child, and worried that whatever you say might make things worse.
None of this means you have done something wrong. Feeding a child is one of the most emotionally loaded parts of parenting, and these concerns are common. They are also something we help families work through every day.
Scope, plainly
What is pediatric nutrition care?
Pediatric nutrition care addresses the feeding and nutrition concerns of childhood, from age two through the pre-teen years. That includes picky and selective eating, sensory-based food aversions, ARFID, slow growth or weight concerns, food allergies and intolerances, digestive issues that affect appetite, and the family dynamics that so often form around a child’s eating.
Children’s needs change quickly as they grow, and so does their relationship with food. Our work considers the whole child, including development, temperament, sensory preferences, and medical history, alongside the parents and caregivers who feed them. Because lasting change in a child’s eating happens at home, parents are an active part of this care.

How we help
How this care is delivered
Pediatric nutrition therapy
Expert guidance for childhood feeding challenges, picky eating, ARFID, building positive food relationships, and optimizing growth and development, because every child deserves to thrive.
Family nutrition therapy
Comprehensive nutrition support that addresses each family member’s unique needs while creating harmony around your dinner table.
Food exposure
Guided exposures using empirically based strategies aimed at methodically expanding accepted foods and enabling a fuller and more complete diet. Exposures start with conversations about easily accepted and challenging foods and the work toward expansion is gradual and paced according to a client’s tolerance.

Who you will work with
Care starts with a conversation with Rebecca Appleman, RD, our practice founder and executive director. She is the first point of contact for every person that reaches out to us; she completes every discovery call and supervises the clinical work of the team as a whole. Alongside her is a small team of registered dietitians with focused clinical interests, which often guide the clinical match for the client. The practice uses a tiered system of individual and group supervision to maintain clinical excellence.
Our clinicians are introduced on our team page, which details each dietitian’s clinical focus.
What to expect
How a first conversation works
Rebecca personally speaks with each new client to carefully guide best next steps and scheduling.
Connect with Rebecca & Schedule
You and Rebecca will discuss what is on your mind related to food and body, and Rebecca will determine the dietitian on our team best suited to guide you in meeting your needs. Appointment options are provided and fees are explained.
Begin Care
You have your full Nutrition Consultation, virtually or in person. This is the visit that creates a foundation for your work with us. Follow-up sessions are scheduled as indicated and in coordination with you.
How payment works
We are a private-pay practice. Clients are billed monthly, during the first week of the month, for all services provided during the previous month. We do not bill insurance or submit claims for you, however, we provide a detailed receipt (superbill) with procedure and diagnostic coding so you can seek reimbursement on your own if your plan has out-of-network nutrition benefits. Fees are discussed on the discovery call and a fee schedule is also included in our paperwork in your client portal.
