Lactation Care
Expert feeding guidance and support to ensure confident feeding strategies consistent with parent feeding goals and baby’s needs. Care is delivered by our lactation support team, who are also registered dietitians, so parent and baby are supported together.
RECOGNITION AND VALIDATION
Does this sound familiar?
Feeding a newborn is often described as natural, however it is a skill that parent and baby learn together. Most families meet at least one question they did not anticipate.
You are pregnant and want a feeding plan in place before your baby arrives.
Latching is painful, or feeds seem to go on without end.
You are worried about your milk supply, or unsure whether your baby is getting enough.
Pumping, bottles, or combination feeding feel more complicated than anyone told you.
Your baby’s weight gain has been flagged, and you want clinical support you can rely on.
You are returning to work and need a feeding and pumping plan that fits your life.
Whatever feeding looks like for your family, breastfeeding, formula, pumping, or some combination, we approach it with encouragement and respect, never judgment.
Scope, plainly
What is lactation care?
Lactation care supports the feeding relationship between parent and baby from pregnancy through the early months. It addresses latch and positioning, milk supply and transfer, pumping, bottle and combination feeding, and the recovery and nutrition needs of the parent doing the feeding.

How we help
How this care is delivered
Lactation consultation
Support for both you and your newborn in the early feeding days, whether that looks like breastfeeding, formula feeding, pumping, or some combination of all three. Care can begin before your baby arrives and may continue through the early months, in your home or virtually.
Individual nutrition therapy
Nutrition counseling focused on your own recovery, energy, and nourishment during pregnancy and the postpartum months.
YOUR CARE TEAM
Who you will work with

Rebecca Appleman, RD
Founder & Executive Director
Care starts with a conversation with Rebecca Appleman, RD, our practice founder and executive director. She is the first point of contact for every person that reaches out to us; she completes every discovery call and supervises the clinical work of the team as a whole.
Meet RebeccaOur clinicians are introduced on our team page, which details each dietitian’s clinical focus.
What to expect
How a first conversation works
Rebecca personally speaks with each new client to carefully guide best next steps and scheduling.
Connect with Rebecca & Schedule
You and Rebecca will discuss what is on your mind related to food and body, and Rebecca will determine the dietitian on our team best suited to guide you in meeting your needs. Appointment options are provided and fees are explained.
Begin Care
You have your full Nutrition Consultation, virtually or in person. This is the visit that creates a foundation for your work with us. Follow-up sessions are scheduled as indicated and in coordination with you.
How payment works
We are a private-pay practice. Clients are billed monthly, during the first week of the month, for all services provided during the previous month. We do not bill insurance or submit claims for you, however, we provide a detailed receipt (superbill) with procedure and diagnostic coding so you can seek reimbursement on your own if your plan has out-of-network nutrition benefits. Fees are discussed on the discovery call and a fee schedule is also included in our paperwork in your client portal.
