As clinicians who work with people navigating complex relationships with food every day, we know that nutritional wellness starts with dignified access.
Grassroots Grocery is a New York-based nonprofit built on a neighbors-helping-neighbors model.
The organization operates without a traditional warehouse, instead delivering fresh produce directly to the communities that need it most. Through volunteer-driven Produce Parties and local distribution efforts, Grassroots Grocery removes barriers to healthy food and restores dignity to the experience of accessing it. Their approach is joyful, human-centered, and rooted in community, which is exactly why it resonates with the values that guide our clinical work. Their work fosters connection, generosity, and shared responsibility across neighborhoods, ensuring that nourishing food reaches those who need it most.
Why This Partnership Matters
