Rebecca Appleman, RD

Rebecca Appleman, RDFounder and Executive Director

Rebecca graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a B.A. in Psychology from Connecticut College. She studied at New York University’s Steinhardt School of Education, Department of Nutrition and Food Studies, the first graduate nutrition program in the nation to emphasize the way individuals, communities and societies relate to food. She completed her dietetic internship at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and specialized clinical training at Weill Cornell Medical Center’s inpatient eating disorder treatment program. Rebecca served as the primary nutritionist at The Renfrew Center New York Day Treatment Program for eating disorders, and completed The Commission on Dietetic Registration’s intensive training and certification program in adult weight management. In her private nutrition counseling practice, Rebecca provides ongoing training and supervision to her team of Registered Dietitians in the fields of eating disorders, family based nutrition therapy, pre natal and post partum nutrition care and weight management. Rebecca is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the Dietetic Practice Groups in Behavioral Health Nutrition and Pediatric Nutrition, and the Greater New York Dietetic Association. Over the past two years, Rebecca, along with dietitian Michal Hertz, MA, RD, has also co-founded and developed Honey, the first App dedicated to helping moms feed their children as well as take care of their own nutrition needs.

Natalie Caamano MS, RD

Natalie Caamano MS, RDNatalie Caamano MS, RD earned her Bachelor of Science in Clinical Dietetics from Montclair State University and her Master of Science from the University of Saint Joseph. She completed her Dietetic Internship through Dominican University in River Forest, IL and practiced as a community-based Nutritionist providing counseling and resources for pregnant and post-partum women, infants and children. Following this experience, Natalie joined the renowned clinical team at Timberline Knolls residential Center for the treatment of eating and addiction disorders in Lemont, IL.  She then assumed the role of lead Clinical Dietitian at Monte Nido Manhattan, where she currently specializes in the treatment of anorexia, bulimia and binge-eating disorder for clients in their partial hospitalization program. Natalie also contributes her time to the US Veterans Affairs HHS in Brooklyn as a Clinical Dietitian. Natalie is passionate about travel and integrates her vast experience of international cuisine and culture into her work. She believes in acknowledging the social and cultural experience of food and helps her clients feel at ease with social eating experiences and varied cuisines. Natalie approaches all sessions with a supportive, warm and realistic attitude to guide her clients and help them build a healthy, balanced relationship with food.  Natalie also holds a certification in Sports Nutrition from Simmons College and has been published in Dance Magazine, Pointe Magazine, and Teacher Magazine for her sports nutrition expertise. Natalie is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Fiorella DiCarlo, RD, CDN

Fiorella DiCarlo, RDFiorella graduated with honors and Kappa Omnicron Nu with a B.S in Nutrition and Food Science at Hunter College in New York City. She completed her dietetic internship with Hunter College School Of Public Health and her clinical training at Lincoln Hospital and Mental Health Center in Bronx, NY. She served as the primary nutritionist at The Renfrew Center New York Day Treatment Program for eating disorders. Fiorella completed post graduate training (Eating and the Body) at the Women's Therapy Centre Institute as well as a post graduate certificate from the William Alanson White Institute, Eating Disorders, Compulsions and Addictions (EDCAS) program. At Appleman Nutrition, she provides individual nutritional counseling to adolescents and adults struggling with eating disorders, body image and weight management issues as well as pre natal and post natal nutrition concerns. Fiorella is an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the Dietetic Practice Groups in Behavioral Health.

Mara LoConte, RD, CDN

Mara LoConte, RDMara graduated Magna Cum Laude from Villanova University School of Business with a B.S. in Business Administration and Finance. After spending the early part of her professional career on Wall Street she decided to make a career change and follow her true passion: food and nutrition. She studied at New York University’s Steinhardt School of Education, Department of Nutrition and Food Studies, and completed her dietetic internship at Montefiore Hospital. Mara also completed The Commission on Dietetic Registration’s intensive training and certification program in adult weight management and is currently completing her Master’s degree in Clinical Nutrition at NYU. Mara works per diem at Montefiore Hospital while also providing individual and group outpatient nutrition counseling at Appleman Nutrition to adolescents and adults struggling with eating disorders and weight management. Mara’s other specialties include digestive disorders such as IBD, Crohn’s, UC and Celiac, Diabetes management, and pre-natal/post-partum nutrition. Mara is an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Greater New York Dietetic Association.

Laura Moretti, MS, RD, CSSD, LDN

Laura Moretti, RDSenior Clinical Supervisor

Laura graduated from Rutgers University with a B.A. in economics. After spending 6 years on Wall Street she decided to follow her true passion and pursue a degree in nutrition and dietetics. She completed her Master’s degree in clinical nutrition at New York University’s Steinhardt School of Education, Department of Nutrition and Food Studies. Laura completed her dietetic internship at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital including intensive training at the Weill Cornell Medical Center inpatient eating disorder treatment program. Laura is also an accomplished triathlete and distance runner who has completed myriad competitions and has developed a specialty in performance based nutrition as well as treating female athletes. After 6 years with Appleman Nutrition, Laura accepted a position in the Sports Medicine division at Boston Children’s Hospital. She remains part of the Appleman team as an adjunct clinician and senior clinical supervisor. Laura is an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the Greater New York Dietetic Association, the National Eating Disorders Association and the Sports, Cardiovascular, and Wellness Nutrition Dietetic Practice Group.

Kate Natoli, RD

Laura Moretti, RDKate graduated from Marymount Manhattan College with an undergraduate degree in History and Education. She spent several years teaching in a special education classroom using behavior modification techniques with an emphasis on Applied Behavior Analysis. Deciding that her true passion was Nutrition, Kate received her advanced degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Russell Sage College in Troy, NY and she completed her Clinical Dietetic Internship through the University of Northern Colorado. While working toward her RD credential, Kate served as a college nutrition counselor at Russell Sage College treating young adults with eating disorders and shortly thereafter became an Advisor to the Russell Sage Chapter of Project HEAL (Help to Eat, Accept, and Live) in upstate New York. After graduate school, Kate began working at Monte Nido River Towns, an adult Residential Eating Disorder Treatment Center, treating Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, and Binge Eating Disorder. Kate has served as the lead Clinical Dietitian at Monte Nido for over two years and continues to provide individual and group nutrition counseling to their residential patients. Kate is an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics as well as the Greater New York Dietetic Association. In addition to her expertise in the treatment of Eating and Weight Disorders, Kate also specializes in Food Allergy management and the treatment of Celiac and other GI diseases. Her passion for food and wellness is something she hopes to impart on everyone she works with.

Laura Stagliano, MS, RD, CDN

Laura Stagliano, MS, RD, CDNAfter graduating with honors with a B.S. in Nutrition from Syracuse University, Laura completed her dietetic internship through ARAMARK’S Mid-Atlantic dietetic program in Philadelphia, PA. Thereafter, she served as a clinical dietitian at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington, MA and treated patients with cardiovascular disease, gastrointestinal illness/disease, and various cancers . Laura completed her Masters in Nutrition and Dietetics at New York University Steinhardt School of Education, Department of Nutrition and Food Studies. She also completed the Commission on Dietetic Registration’s certification programs in adult weight management and childhood and adolescent weight management. In addition to the individual and group counseling she provides to her adolescent and adult clients at Appleman Nutrition, Laura also serves as the primary dietitian for the Intensive Outpatient Program at the Renfrew Center of New York, where she provides nutrition counseling to adolescents and adults struggling with eating disorders. Laura is an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and Dietetic Practice Group in Behavioral Health Nutrition.
